Mothers Day Dining With A Twist

Eating with your mom on Mothers Day is great but… what if you can pair the meal with an activity?

Live music, art galleries, cooking classes, wine class tasting, or bowling are all my picks for Mothers Day Dining with A Twist.

If Mom’s a music lover, Dakota has two options: traditional swing jazz with Gypsy Mania Hot Club at 10am and a gorgeous gospel brunch with Robert Robertson at 12:30pm. Chef Remy Pettus will have a special Southern Mother’s day a la carte brunch menu. For more details, or to order tickets, visit:,  or call: 612.332.5299

Moms Day dinner at Cooks of Crocus Hill ($95) is a participation event from 4-6:30. You will be hands-on cooking your dinner with your mom and make beet salad, roasted Cod with a sauce over potatoes, and a lemon dessert. This elevated tea is in the beautiful Lyn Hall Edina room and is friendly for multiple generations $65 per adult $40 for children 10 and under.

The Walker is open and there is nothing more family-friendly than strolling the galleries of art, visiting the outdoor sculpture garden, and having lunch at Cardamom. There are plenty of restaurant reservations and gallery ticket reservations as of this airing.
