Frequently Asked Questions
Absolutely! Swap the meats for roasted veggies like bell peppers, mushrooms, or spinach, and try a blend of mozzarella and provolone for a cheesy, meat-free version.
Yes! Homemade dough works beautifully, just make sure it’s rolled thin enough to bake through evenly.
You can assemble the Stromboli a few hours in advance, keep it covered in the fridge, and bake when ready to serve.
A Few Possible Stromboli Variations
- BBQ Chicken Stromboli: Swap pizza sauce for BBQ sauce, and use shredded chicken, mozzarella, and red onion.
- Breakfast Stromboli: Fill with scrambled eggs, bacon, cheese, and a drizzle of hot sauce.
- Veggie Lovers: Roasted peppers, mushrooms, olives, spinach, and feta.
- Extra Spicy: Use spicy pepperoni, jalapeños, and a pinch more chilli flakes.
Storing Leftover Stromboli
If you have leftovers (unlikely, but it can happen), let them cool completely before wrapping tightly in foil or placing in an airtight container. Store in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven at 180°C (350°F) for 8–10 minutes to keep the crust crispy, avoid microwaving if possible.
