Stephanie’s Picks: Essence One

It’s Cyber Monday, and there is a great feeling when you shop local. These are extraordinary times, and we need to promote and champion our local makers, and today I hope you’ll shop from Essence One.

One of the great things about recording the Makers of Minnesota podcast over the last three years has been how many cool makers I have met. This week I got to catch up with Lauren VanScoy, who I first interviewed in May 2018.  At that time, she was just gaining traction with Essence One, a body care company that raises awareness of mental health and wellness by creating all-natural aromatherapy products. Lauren shared her story on the podcast of finding herself suffering from anxiety and depression after her second child’s birth. Lauren discovered aromatherapy as she sought out the best solution for regaining balance in her life. Lauren began creating her own natural essential oil blends as a way to improve her immune system, relieve stress, and uplift her spirit, eventually leading her to become certified through the Aromahead Institute.

What started as a wellness path blossomed into a thriving business with a booth at the Minnesota State Fair, a partnership in two retail stores (Six for Good at Rosedale and 50th and France , and a flourishing online business. Lauren’s products don’t just smell great; her natural deodorant is a wonder for Breast Cancer patients or anyone looking for a natural deodorant solution. Hers actually works.

For Christmas this year, Essence One has some holiday gift packs that are fantastic, Morning Calm, starts your morning off right with refreshing scents designed to help you start your day in a calm state. One of my favorite gifts I filled my cart with this year is her Mental Health Awareness gift pack. This gift is perfect for The Teens and Tweens on your list. I love this gift because it brings awareness to the Bring Change to Mind organization co-founded by Glenn Close that seeks to end the stigma surrounding mental illness. For every Mental Health Awareness pack, you buy you help to sponsor Mental Health Clubs at Maple Grove and Champlin High Schools with the hope of creating other clubs throughout the state of Minnesota.Essence One | Stephanie Hansen's Picks
