Perfect Brunch Recipes
Brunch is one of my daughter Ellie’s favorite meals. For her graduation from college, she requested that we have a brunch gathering. We planned the menu and our conversation got very animated when we started talking about what constitutes brunch recipes. I thought brunch was kale salads, quiche, mimosas, and tarts. Ellie thinks the perfect brunch is Bloody Marys, mimosas, donuts, and “breakfast foods.” Is lemon blueberry bread pudding breakfast food? We agreed to disagree. (PS – it is!)
Below, you will find the menus Ellie and I chose. I also put together a collection of all my brunch recipes so you can choose your own favorites. Brunch is the perfect way to celebrate, in my opinion, because it lends itself to such a variety of flavors and dishes. No matter the occasion or time of year, you can find seasonal recipes or reliable favorites for your menu. Of course, what would brunch be without mimosas and bloody Marys? Before you dive into the food, make sure to check out this Michelada recipe (it’s non alcoholic, but feel free to use regular beer!) and my guide to bloody Marys around town!
Brunch Recipes
Lemon Poppy Seed Scones
These lemon poppyseed scones are sweet and tart, and make for a tasty sweet on your brunch menu.
Tomato Tart with Goat Cheese, Mozzarella and Basil
I love to use both goat cheese and mozzarella in this tomato tart. Goat cheese helps set up as a base and provide a tangy bite and I love the creaminess from the mozzarella. Plus, you can't go wrong with homemade pastry, fresh tomatoes and basil.
Swiss Chard and Double Goat Cheese Tart
A nice big serving of goat cheese gives this tart some creaminess and a wonderful tang. The kale makes for a hearty and healthy addition.
Chocolate Chocolate Chip Zucchini Muffins
Chocolate and zucchini is one of the most underrated flavor combinations. These muffins are chocolatey and moist, and just the right amount of rich.
Blueberry Tart
This gorgeous blueberry tart is the perfect recipe for blueberry sason. It works just as well with frozen, too, so you can make this for brunch all year.
Sweet and Spicy Candied Pepper Bacon
Take your brunch bacon up a notch with this wonderful recipe that adds spicy and sweet flavor from cajun seasoning and brown sugar.
Apricot Mustard Glazed Sausages
The sweet and salty combination from a glazed sausage is one of my favorites for brunch. The apricot and mustard add depth and flavor to this recipe.
Easy Spring Asparagus Tart
This is a quick and easy tart recipe for your brunch table. Asparagus is one of my favorite vegetables for its look and heartiness.
Salted Caramel Monkey Bread with Pecans
Monkey bread is a must for a good brunch. The caramel is sweet and gooey and just a perfect addition to your dessert tray.
Cranberry Orange Bread
I made a double batch of the following recipe and got 5 mini loaves. The recipe below would make one nice 9 x 5 loaf or a dozen muffins.
Pumpkin Spice Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Bread
Pumpkin bread may be a fall treat, but I say use this recipe all year long. The chocolate chips add nice sweetness.
Dayton's Boundary Waters Restaurant Popovers
Popovers are a classic recipe that are surprisingly easy to make. This recipe is only five ingredients and will have your guests thinking of their favorite supper club.
Homemade Granola
This homemade granola will be a hit, and can be served on its own or with a nice helping of yogurt.
Zucchini Tart with Lemon Thyme Goat Cheese
You can call the zucchini or the goat cheese the star of this tart, but the result is the same: A delicious and tangy vegetarian option for your brunch menu.
Quiche Crust and Filling
Quiche flavor options are endless, but it all starts with a good crust. This quiche recipe is a great place to start!
