Mother’s Day Ideas 2024

Most moms love flowers, but I also like chocolates and a fancy hotel brunch with miles of desserts on Mother’s Day. Some of the most memorable Mother’s Day celebrations I’ve had involved spending time together as a family. With that in mind, here are my Mother’s Day ideas for celebrating moms and mother figures this year.

Green Thumbs

Pot of flowers and greenery

What’s better than a beautifully planted container bursting with color and texture? How about one that is just as beautiful but also edible! On Sunday May 26, Tangletown Gardens is hosting an Edible Container Plants class that will explore the world of edimental plants – those that are both edible and ornamental. You’ll create entirely edible containers using herbs, vegetables, and edible flowers! Visit the Wise Acre Eatery before the class for brunch and give mom a whole day of fun!

Crafty

Woodbury Board and Bush

Sip, paint, and build inspirational wood pieces and signs at Woodbury Board and Brush. Whether you like Farmhouse Chic or want an office or cabin inspiration, you can do it yourself. At Board & Brush Creative Studio, their goal is to turn you into a “DIY master” by helping you understand and appreciate the beauty of raw materials—the wood, the knots, the color variations, and the superficial imperfections that will make your project unique. Distressing, sanding with the grain, and staining are a few of the steps they will guide you through to make your personalized wood sign look as though it has been with you for years—like a vintage heirloom. Check out their website here for classes and themes.  If you enter the code DISHMN

you will save $15 on your class when you sign up between now and 10/31/24.
