Slow Cooker Turkey Dinner In The Crockpot

Making a slow-cooker turkey dinner in your favorite Crock Pot in the off-season is super easy when you enlist the help of your Slow Cooker! A Slow Cooker Turkey Dinner is a perfect solution for busy weekdays. During the month of Crocktober, I am sharing easy recipes that come together in your Crockpot or Instant Pot, and the Slow Cooker Turkey Dinner is a must-try.

  • 8 ounces sliced mushrooms

What Type Of Turkey Should I Use?

Ferndale Market Turkey Farm in Cannon Falls is one of my favorite places to visit. The Turkeys at Ferndale Market are free-range and given no hormones. Ferndale Farms is a third-generation run family farm. Dale and Fern started the farm and passed it on to Dick and Jane, and now Katie and John, their children, are the stewards of the farm. The families live on the farm and you can visit their market onsite to pick your bird, grab some turkey gravy, or their turkey sausage and uncured meat sticks or any of their curated Minnesota Made products. A visit there can be part of preparing your Slow Cooker Turkey Dinner.

This recipe is a shortcut to the Thanksgiving Turkey Dinner. You get some of the veggies and all of the turkey flavor by using turkey tenderloins cut into large chunks and crocked in broth with a little cream added. Serve this over egg noodles for Fall comfort food. This method of crafting a Slow Cooker Turkey Dinner is not only easy but delightful.

What Type of Seasoning is Good?

My favorite all purpose seasoning for chicken or turkey is my friend Heather’s Dirty Goodness All Purpose Seasoning. I am obsessed with it and use it on roast chickens, my Thanksgiving Turkeys, and turkey burgers and noodles whenever there is turkey or chicken in them! It’s perfect for a Slow Cooker Turkey Dinner.

How Can I Make My Own Poultry Seasoning?

“All-purpose poultry seasoning” is a savory herb blend that adds depth to chicken, turkey, stuffing, and even vegetables. Its easy to mix up your own if you are at home.

Here’s a classic poultry seasoning blend:

  • 2 Tbsp dried sage
  • 1 ½ Tbsp dried thyme
  • 1 Tbsp dried oregano
  • 1 Tbsp dried rosemary
  • 1 ½ tsp ground black pepper
