Paloma Cocktail

I have always loved a Paloma cocktail. There is something about the fresh grapefruit and botanicals in tequila that works for me. I like to order these drinks in bars in the Summer, but they are really best with fresh grapefruit, which comes in season in the Winter in Florida, so it’s like a refreshing break from the heavy Winter cocktail menus.

The official Paloma recipe from Hornitos is served in a rocks glass with a Rosemary sprig. I like the way they built the recipe because its easy to double or triple the ingredients or even make a pitcher of Palomas. Still, for a little Minnesota Winter wellness, consider serving the cocktail up in a coupe or martini glass and floating a sage leaf on top that you have rubbed in your hand first to release the natural oils. As we prepare for Thanksgiving, I have lots of sage on hand, which is a beautiful way to use it.
